Foswiki Bylaws

Public relations policy

Community members acting on behalf of the community

When a member communicates to the general public on behalf of the Foswiki community, such as responding to emails sent to mailing lists intended for use by the general public, the member must ensure that the communication is free of anything that may be construed as advertising, and that the email is signed with your name and the role of which you act. (e.g Member of the board, Chairman of the board, treasurer, release manager, security team leader etc etc)

Statements on behalf of employers

Statements you make on any Foswiki project website will be construed as your personal opinion, and will not be assumed to be statements made on behalf of companies or employers, unless you clearly state otherwise.

Advertising and sponsorship policy

Advertising for goods and services

Advertising for goods and services is only allowed in specific places provided by the community, such as the personal profiles of registered Foswiki users, or on the WikiConsultants and other associated pages. Note this restriction includes any mention of company names (other than situations where the company is the direct subject of discussion), or links to company websites.

The guidelines for references to sponsors are described in the following topics:

Official project sponsors

Notwithstanding the guidelines for references to sponsors, the official project sponsors may from time to time be offered special advertising opportunities. These opportunities will be specifically defined and do not imply any relaxation of the bylaws.

Privacy policy
