Hi, I am a
wiki consultant situated in Hamburg, Germany. My main interest currently is in helping companies to manage their knowledge as well as the skills of their employees using web two-dot-oh technologies, while not letting loose quality assuring processes. Wikis have got a lot of advantages fostering
collaboration on a much broader scale than most other fully structured systems. However, while wikis' non-structuredness comes as a blessing first, people are quite lost how to map their business processes onto such a tool in a fruitful and sustainable way.
That's where companies search for expert help to address the specific characteristics within their workflows.
As a widely used platform, Foswiki is an excellent choice to implement wiki-style knowledge management and thus get access even to those hidden knowledge gems
that are normally lost in everyday's business.
I've been an active member on the former
TWiki project for a couple of years and am now committed to
Foswiki, the community fork and successor of TWiki. (
Read more about this split-up.).
All extensions that I once have been contributing to TWiki will be continued on this new platform now. Plugins that are still available on TWiki.org are
considered outdated.
For the next foreseeable time, all new versions will be developed with backwards-compatibility in mind. However, there will be a certain timeframe
when this backwards-compatibility will be faded out. In the meantime we will maintain a backwards compatibility layer for Foswiki extensions to be used on the old TWiki engine, to ease a transition from the old to the new platform.
Note also, that we still provide professional support for TWiki as usual. Have a look at
WikiConsultants to find the
best wiki partner for your needs.

Note to users and potential contributors of these plugins
If you find an error or want to provide an improvement, please file a
bug item outlining what you
are trying to achieve and how to reproduce the error. Take your time
and make a screenshot. Says more than 1000 words sometimes.
The absolutely best would be if you have a patch that fixes
the issue at hand. Any patch is more than welcome. Note also, that you may just get my 2cent
comments on the patch and the patch will be rejected at first. Try to improve it or convince me that I am wrong and your patch
is spot on. Try to break down a larger improvement into sensible chunks of separated patches so that I can best see what you
are trying to achieve.
If you have write access to Foswiki's subversion repository, don't just commit
your patch to a plugin to trunk. Please let's talk about it first. Even though all the above contributions are Open Source, a
software repository is only half of the story. It certainly does not replace communication that is needed to manage this software.
Thanks for being a nice fossie.
