Is it possible to turn off TWiki compatibility?
I'm starting a new wiki, so I figured I'd just turn off TWiki compatibility, but I'm wondering if I'm premature. For example, several extensions put stuff there:
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 8095 Mar 4 14:46 data/TWiki/GluePlugin.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 259 Mar 4 15:32 data/TWiki/NewLdapUserTemplate.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 4094 Mar 4 15:32 data/TWiki/NewUserPlugin.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 1694 Mar 4 15:32 data/TWiki/RenderLdapUser.txt
(There's also all the standard Web* stuff, but that comes with Web creation--or whatever we're calling Webs in Foswiki). Should I just bite the bullet and turn compatibility back on? If not, should I move these things to System?
Yes and no. If you use Extensions that have not been completely ported to Foswiki (The ones you list are in the process of, but not completed), then you can't turn it off
- basically, we're all working hard to get there, but some developers are still transitioning our development away from 'T(m)Wiki' and so aren't quite there yet.

In your above list
GluePlugin and
NewUserPlugin have not been converted to Foswiki yet. Fortunately, these are pretty simple ones and conversion
is straight forward. They will be converted to pure Foswiki within the next weeks. Since then you will have to keep the
TWikiCompatibilityPlugin enabled.
