The function will not be removed; but I suspect that anyone who uses it has already shot FSA in the balls anyway.

Deprecating API requires approved feature proposal.

The RemoveRedirectCGIQueryHandler has not been through the 14-day committed developer period.

-- KennethLavrsen - 01 Apr 2010

Sorry, yes, you are right.

Making this Urgent, as I have made checkins that will have to be reverted if the feature is rejected.

-- CrawfordCurrie - 06 Apr 2010

I've added a comment to RemoveRedirectCGIQueryHandler which I hadn't seen before coming across this task. I use this handler in the HijaxPlugin to persist some query parameters, not to handle the redirect itself. Can we have a modifyQueryParametersHandler or something similar instead?

-- DavidPatterson - 06 Apr 2010

See my remarks in the feature request. There are better ways of skinning that cat, I suspect.

-- CrawfordCurrie - 06 Apr 2010

I created the 1.1 release notes topic, and added the deprecation notice there, as well as the existing comments in the code.

Note again there has been no functionality change - this is a pure documentation fix.
