Item13637: WebChangesAlert topic has been removed from 2.0 causing lots of ugly broken INCLUDES in existing WebNotify topics
Priority: Low
Current State: No Action Required

it seems you guys decided no longer to have a
WebChangesAlert topic included in
WebNotify
That is fine. But removing it makes
WebNotify ugly for upgraders that already have lots of
WebNotify topics.
You should leave this behind for compatibility. Even if it is just a simplified version linking to a new better help topic

Seems someone thought the name of the
WebChangesAlert was a bad name. Well. Maybe it was a bad name. But renaming it was not a smart move. Another pain to add for the upgrader who now has to either rename the include in all
WebNotify topics (also in all subwebs) or needs to copy
WebNotifyHelp to
WebChangesAlert.

Just checked my old 1.1.9. yes it was done already there
The issue is not the rename. It is the removal of the
WebChangesAlert which just contained a simple
INCLUDE to
WebNotifyHelp. We should just restore it and leave it. it is one topic. it does not eat any food or spend any money. And it helps us upgraders to have one less pain to think about when upgrading

I think that this can be changed to No Action. The change was made in 1.0.10, released 9 Sept 2010, over 6 years ago. By now existing sites have hopefully dealt with the issue.
