Bug after upgrading to 1.1.6 from 1.1.5

Yesterday I upgraded to 1.1.6 from 1.1.5. I am not sure what exactly happened here, but in Sandbox web when trying to create a topic now it does not like lower case 's'. Check out pic on the attachment for an example. With any word or even just typing a-Z it does not like lower case 's'.

Between this and your CommentPlugin issues reported in Question1219 I'm beginning to suspect that you have some sort of corruption going on. You might want to re-download the package, and verify the MD5 checkum to make sure it's not corrupted. Then reinstall. Either that or if you can sign in on the #foswiki IRC channel, we might be able to help interactively.

In any event, the issues you are encountering are extremely unusual.

I uninstalled the wiki. Now I can't install it again because I think the RPM server is down?

My suggestion at this point is to use the tgz packages that are the official foswiki distribution. Your issues encountered on this question and others would possibly point to some packaging issues. There have been no similar reports against the tgz files.

At this point we suspect that something failed during the upgrade using the rpm packages. The issues found don't appear to be present in the packages themselves.

A reinstall using the 1.1.6 tgz file was successful.

It appears that the '$Foswiki::cfg{NameFilter}' option set in RPM packages is causing the problem. Going into the configure script and browsing under 'Security and Authentication', 'Environment', and reseting the 'NameFilter' option to the defaults fixed it for me. Note that you have to expand the 'Show expert options' to see the 'NameFilter' option.
