The template macros are still very much structured ordering all css and js itself. By using ADDTOZONE, css and js can be added anywhere thus relieving the template system from having to align these fragments in proper order... However, changing or even removing the defined template macros like =script:...= and =style:...= potentially breaks users' skin customizations or other skins build on top of PatternSkin.
