Just adding some notes as I run through setting up a 1.0.9-rc1 test in parallel with my 1.0.8 production wiki

  • Came across condition where login might get redirected to URL that's missing hostname part Item2597 Need expert to look at.
  • Came across extender.pl issue, perhaps not a new problem, Item2595 Can be deferred
  • Came across cosmetic WebSearch issue Item2596 Closed!
  • /bin/configure -> Find more extensions shows TwistyPlugin currently installed version as %$SHORTDESCRIPTION% Item2598 Closed!
  • Some distributed topics could use a date bump, Eg:

-- PaulHarvey - 06 Jan 2010

I'll bump the dates under generic docu item.

Thanks for the quick testing Paul. We need more to do this

-- KennethLavrsen - 06 Jan 2010

why do we need the user dates changed? that was when they were created. what values would they be changed to? and why?

-- WillNorris - 06 Jan 2010

I suppose they don't have to be: But to have system topics dated older than Foswiki itself just seemed weird?

-- PaulHarvey - 06 Jan 2010

yes, i'm sure it will confuse some users. but i go back and forth on how much T(m)Wiki heritage to show and how much to obscure. how about... we change their creation dates to the date of the fork?

-- WillNorris - 07 Jan 2010

I actually updated the time stamp when we did 1.0.0 or maybe it was 1.0.1 or 2. But I guess I missed a few.

Or someone reverted it. I do not want to update at each release but just putting the same time stamp as in all the other system topics which is some 2009 date.

I will do that when I fix some other spellings found by others. Takes 10 seconds to change 4 time stamps.

It is OK to provice generic feedback here but this is a bug item for release note, SVN tag, upreving Foswiki.pm and other release secretrary work. Bugs should always be raised as Task items and always ONE item per bug.

We have a generic bug item for pure documentation updates so that spelling errors and the like do not create a flood of tiny tasks.

For 1.0.9 the doc item is Item2444. We always put the docu bug urgent so it is easy to find.

You will notice that I created bug items for most of what Paul listed. But people should raise these tasks themselves.

Finally a follow up on the date thing. For 1.0.0 I updated the System web topics but not the Main web topics. Now all have the 9th of January as date which was the date around 1.0.0. We should not update the dates for each release because that creates an extra noise when I build upgrade packages. So this was a one time only. We can do it again in 2.0.

1.0.9 is now built and last SVN checkin incl creating a tag is done.

1.0.9 is SVN 6075
