As discussed in this request, I found out that having all lower case names is not possible in Foswiki. It is my request to make that possible, or at least create the option to do so. The reason is that I have a wiki about a language where case is important, and reading a word with upper case seems just as wrong as writing "michael" or "nasa" in lower case.

I understand that some topics and functions must have upper case names, but technically it should not be too much a problem to make this possible. For those functions requiring upper case, there must be a workaround,3 even if that must be done manually. (Quote from German author Loriot: "Die anderen machen es doch auch!")

See EnableLowerCaseTopicNames for the proposal. Looking at this for possibly Release 2.2, assuming there are no concerns raised in the proposal. It would be implemented as an "Experimental" feature through configure.
