The publishing history is updated every time a publish is done. If the plugin is used for publishing individual topics, the publish history can grow very large and with very many revisions. This kills RCS (and possibly other stores as will). The impact is that the publishing process appears to be very slow.

The workaround is to use PlainFileStoreContrib

"Fixed" by making the default to not create a history topic.
