The configure email auto-configure tool doesn't correctly validate the perl module dependencies:

  • It only checks Net::SMTP and IO::Socket::SSL, and misses dependency on Net::SSLeay
  • It lumps together all the dependency issues as a single error without identifying what is really missing.
  • It doesn't try to configure insecure SMTP if SSL won't work.

Setting to waiting for release. Need to revisit after some real world feedback from alpha testing.
