Static context was added as part of Development.AddStaticContext, but it's never been propagated through the default extensions.

This could also be useful for control of the search bots. Setting a static context should automatically remove all table sort links, edit table links, comment boxes, etc. If it worked.

Any others?

JSCalenderContrib should not show a button, but that is hardcoded html everywhere.

What about topic actions?

I was thinking about that, but most static actions use the print skin which strips all that anyway. I figure a combination of static + skin would be acceptable. The static is more to prevent the inline rendering of actions within the topic itself.

One reason I was thinking about the a bit more was considering that we could similar techniques for bots - serve them pages without the links that they follow, killing the server. Sorting every table in every direction, etc.
