In April/May 2009, at, Pavel Jenicek wrote that he was working on an iCal extension to CalendarPlugin.

I don't see any indication that this enhancement ever made it into the main CalendarPlugin code.

Those of us using Macs or other iCalendar-supporting calendar systems would love to see such extensions added.

MichaelDaum once asked whether he should include a calendar component into his JQueryPlugin. This is just a backend component, but maybe he has a project in the pipeline.

Ya. JQueryPlugin will come with FullCalendar. Not hard to write a wiki app for persistence. iCal import/export is another yummy thing. Can't be that hard as there is sofisticated cpanery afaik.

I was planning to do this at some point, using a jQuery component as the front-end, but i can't find one.

There are some ical libs in CPAN: Net::ICal::*

Extending MailInContrib, I hope to somehow allow our outlook users to invite our wiki to events, thus creating an event topic which will be picked up using something based on Micha's DBQUERY demo of the jquery fullcalendar

Need to do this for a client, though I see it requires some heavy re-engineering of the internals of the plugin.

Because of the fairly horrendous way this plugin works, I decided that the best approach was to leave it largely untouched, but support the generation of compatible event lists from ical that this plugin can use. That required some fixes to the macro expansion in the calendars, though.
