This question about Not sure...: Answered

WebCreateNewTopic

It appears the script for suggesting WikiWords for a Topic in WebCreateNewTopic is broken on my installation. When I try to create a topic, the span element "webTopicCreatorFeedback" does not give any output and subsequently the submit button remains deactivated. When using an Skin withought WikiWord generation, I can create the new topic as expected.

I first noticed tihs problem after installing a handful of plugins, namely ChartPlugin, DirectedGraphPlugin, DirectedGraphWebMapPlugin, EditTablePlugin, FlowchartPlugin, MetaCommentPlugin and MsOfficeAttachmentsAsHTMLPlugin, but I can't be sure whether this is more than a correlation, since I don't frequently use WebCreateNewTopic, and disabling those plugins doesn't solve the problem either.

There are no warnings or errors stated in configure, nor are there error log entries. I don't know where to look for the problem (where the code responsible for WikiWord generation is located).

Your help would be much appreciated.

Ok, Problem solved. There was a function call to the non-existing function String.trimSpaces in foswikiString.js.

This was apparently due to the javascript libraries being from an older versions of Foswiki than the WebCreateNewTopicTeplate.

How that happened I have no idea, maybe a broken update. However, an update to 1.13 fixed the issue.

Hope this helps anyone facing similar issues.

Kind regards
