Automatic signature is broken

Normally the editor generates in every new Topic a signature like:

-- Main.MaikSchoenfeld - 01 Dec 2010

by converting the line:

-- %WIKIUSERNAME% - %DATE%

but in my wiki since a while it wouldn't be converted, so that the macro shows the name of the beholder and not of the author. unfortunately this effect had been noticed after a lot of changes, so now it is really hard to find the bad config.

first, I supposed, the WebTopicEditTemplate was broken, but the code is same like in the WebTopicEditTemplate at foswiki.org.

Maybe someone knows, how could I get this template workig correct.

Without knowing what template changes you made, it's impossible to say. But you understand how the sig is generated, so should be able to work it back yourself....
