This question about Missing functionality: Needs followup in Tasks
Problem with search function
Hi team
Today I created a new document in the sandbox. It contains the words "More_Test_by_Dave" and "shampoo".
When searching it on the page "Sandbox >
WebHome" I can find it if I enter in the search field "More_ shampo".
Note: Both search words are only parts of the complete word!
Now I change to the "Advanced Search" (it changes to the page "Sandbox >
WebSearch).
Without changing the settings I can't find my page. What's the difference now?
Even if I search with changed settings "Topic name" OR "Literal search" OR "Regular expression search" I can't find my page. Confusing.
Kind regards,
Dave
Adding to this, it does appear that the space is not being accepted as a delimiter in a Literal Search.
In a literal search on this sandbox, an advanced search for: more test
Brings up one hit,
CarloSchulzSandbox because it finds "more testimonials"
Where-as a regex search on: more;test
brings up topics with "more" and "test*" with many results.

Thanks to your note, I understand now the different reaction of "standard search" and "advanced search".
Helped me a lot and took me a step further. Thank you!

I'm not sure fully though. I've set this to needs follow-up in tasks. The functionality seems clearly divergent from the documentation on the Advanced search topic:
to search for all topics that contain "SOAP", "WSDL", a literal "web service", but not "shampoo", write: soap wsdl "web service" -shampoo

Although that documentation is confusing: it only works for word and keyword search.
