This question about Using an extension: Needs followup in Tasks

No BlueNote theme found after having NatSkin and foswiki upgraded.

Hi

I have done an update of our foswiki from 1.0.4 to 1.0.8, and also updated some of our extensions including NatSkin and all extensions reguired by NatSkin.

However I can't find the BlueNote NatSkin theme. In our pub/System/NatSkin only Base... is found.

Have this theme been moved out from the NatSkin extension?

Yes. It has been renamed to JazzyNote and is located at System.JazzyNoteTheme.

This had two reasons: first there will be a series of color schemes for this theme, one of which will be - well - blue, as it is now. It would sound a bit silly to select style=bluenote, variation=red.

The other reason is that the theming engine in NatSkin has changed. Before, any variation was combinable with any style found somewhere on then style path. That doesn't work out when styles are augmented with variations not build for them. So Styles and Variations are now bundled into "themes" giving it a clear context for variations.

In other words: we have theme packages consisting of a set of styles and variations. Each theme is consists of a topic (like JazzyNoteTheme) with css attached to it.

I hope you will find this convenient enough to overcome the upgrade hassle you are having. Sorry to hear that smile

Hi!

Thanks for your answer. It makes sense to have a more unified style/theme setup for NatSkin smile

So I found my JazzyNoteTheme topic, but I am having not able to make it available via STYLEPATH.
I have set:

* Set STYLEPATH=System.JazzyNoteTheme, System.NatSkin

in my SitePreferences, but still only base is the only theme found. That's KNOWNSTYLES, only returns base. Any idea what I am doing wrong here? -- AtleBriskemyr - 19 Dec 2009

You aren't alone. See Question360 for my temporary work around. -- CraigBowers 19 Dec 2009
