"Watching" a Task / Bug

A bug report I filed (Foswiki:Tasks.Item1575) was found to be a duplicate of a bug reported earlier (Foswiki:Tasks.Item1509). Now that Foswiki:Tasks.Item1509 has become "my" bug as well, I'd like to "watch" that bug, i.e. be notified whenever anything is done about that report.

Yet, even after Foswiki:Tasks.Item1575 (my "original" report) was marked as a duplicate, I'm still listed in WebNotify as having subscribed to updates of Foswiki:Tasks.Item1575, but not of Foswiki:Tasks.Item1509. Editing WebNotify by hand obviously doesn't make sense, since that topic will be clobbered by genwebnotify next time arond.

Any other chance to request update notifications of Foswiki:Tasks.Item1509?

genwebnotify works by processing the GenerateWebNotify topic. This in turn is generated by a standard query search of the ReportedBy and WaitingFor fields, which are comma-separated lists of names. So if you add yourself to either of these fields in the original problem report (I'd recommend ReportedBy) you should get notification.
