Tuning default search type (edismax)

I have installed latest Foswiki and SolrPlugin (solr-5.5.5).

Our users complain that they *cannot find what they are searching for" and "get too much unrelated results".

I tried to analyze this vague description, especially the second one. I get the feeling that edismax returns too much results, below is just one example.

In solrconfig.xml there is an mm (minimum matches) parameter commented out. Should i play using this parameter?

What is the default für mm ?

I would like to tune solr to behave more like standard search mode, i think our users expect AND as default. There should be no or less results which match only one of the search tearms.
