speechnotesx not working inside textarea for foswiki

I am using latest chrome on Linux Mint 18.2.

I have installed the speechnotesx extension. It seems to have problems with iframes used in TiddlyWiki but I was hoping that foswiki would work.

I can use it to fill the search input on foswiki, but any page edit and the textarea presented does not seem to allow the microphone. Are there ways I can strip down the textarea so things like right click are not captured by foswiki? Not sure what is causing the problem.

Thanks for any help. Also waiting on speechnotesx support.

Ah, drilled down on the page source and under the textarea there is html for an iframe. So likely same problem as tiddly wiki, chrome won't allow the microphone in the iframe making speechnotesx fail. Chrome's extra security bites the end user again. smh

You might try reverting to the original plain text editor. It does not use an iframe.
  • Remove the 'natedit' from the SKIN setting.
  • Disable Wysiwyg editing.

You can set these in your user topic. They are now disabled for this topic if you want to try it editing here:
  • Set SKIN = pattern
  • Set NOWYSIWYG = 1

Yep, no wysiwyg works but obviously it cripples the editor features. I'll test turning it on/off. Thanks!
