Nesting Search in Calc

I am trying to nest a search query into a %CALC% macro. From the discussion about nesting macros I would have thought this will not cause any issues as I want the inner part - i.e. the search - to be evaluated first.

However all that happens is that the search is being evaluated and the CALC is not. If I just do the search separately the resulting string looks exactly as I want it. If I put that same string into the CALC manually all works fine as well. Here is the expression I am trying to compute:
