This question about Installation of Foswiki: Answered

Sven's foswiki debian repository broken?

The link for the debian repository listed @ no longer works.

Was this a supported item? Will it be returning?

Thank you in advanced

Unfortunately the developer left the project and did not contribute his tools that did the automation of the .deb/.rpm files. Any packaging except for the tar/zip files and vmware image are individual contributions and are not formally supported by the project.

If a developer wanted to support the packages, we'd welcome them, provided that the tools to allow automated packaging are also provided to the project.

I thought Sven had checked them into tools/pkg. If not, what's missing?

I've talked to Sven a few times on this. The tools in the repository are badly out of date, and don't include any of the automated packaging bits that use software that Sven was not free to release. A couple of others have looked at the packaging code and were not able to make any progress.
