This question about Installation of Foswiki, Authentication or Authorisation: Answered

Intranet Installation explanation

Hi I'm very new to foswiki and only have excel VBA experience. I'd like to start building a knowledge base but want to know how I would go about keeping it completely contained on either my Firm's intranet or shared common drive if that makes sense. Basically, we would be using internal use only sensitive information and would like to completely remove any ability to access from outside people

Any help appreciated!

If you have a server in your firm's intranet that is protected by a firewall, then simply install Foswiki there. If the server is accessible from outside, then you could consider restricting access to you wiki to authenticated users (see AccessControl: Restrict Access to a whole Foswiki site). If you use active directory to sign into your intranet, you might look at LdapContrib to handle authentication to your wiki.
