Discussion

  • pseudo-nat: svn installs are a pain to pseudo-install all nat dependencies. Little script that does it for you.

There is lots of great development going on. I just wanted to share my observations with ModPerlEngineContrib

  • Results are from a fresh installation with no additional data/.
  • Test subject is an Ubuntu VM (running fosiki packages on apache w/ShorterURLs) on an Opteron 8384 (2.7GHz) appliance w/2GB RAM.
  • Individual response times are generally reproducible after 3 or so hits after apache restart when changing config.
    • A representative result (mean result with -n 10 ) has been placed into the table below, these do not represent averages across different ab runs.
  • ab -n 10 http://wiki.org/Sandbox/WebHome?skin=pattern for PatternSkin tests
  • ab -n 10 http://wiki.org/Sandbox/WebHome for NatSkin tests

Mean times in ms below.

Skin Enabled Plugins cgi mod_perl fastcgi fcgi
PatternSkin core 380 138 133 142
PatternSkin All Nat deps 610 158 151 150
NatSkin All Nat deps 630 160 155 162

My wiki is much faster with PurePerl than NativeSearchContrib...

-- PaulHarvey - 15 Mar 2010

The overall wiki or just SEARCH?

-- MichaelDaum - 15 Mar 2010

Never mind. I must be going crazy. NativeSearchContrib is faster again... Probably an artefact of troubleshooting Tasks.Item2631
