FlorianSchlichting Would Like to Check-in
Who am I?
I'm 35, I live in Berlin, Germany with my wife and two kids. I studied anthropology, economics and computer science. I love classical music and opera, travelling, and seeing the world through the eyes of a foreign people.
I spend my days working at Freie Universität Berlin's central IT as a systems administrator and programmer for Linux systems.
I'm fsfs on Freenode / #foswiki
My github username is fschlich
What do I want?
write access to
SVN for the following branches:
Core
wikiplugins
What can I do?
I've got 4+ years work experience with Perl as my main language, albeit mainly with smaller scripts and in an imperative style. We emphasize use of a modern and clean Perl style, and testing.
A few weeks ago, I took over several Foswiki installations, both in a "collaborative wiki" and a "public website" setup. Thus my knowledge of the code is still spotty, but I'll be a steady follower of developments, at least in the stable branch.
Why do I want to do it?
Because
PaulHarvey suggested it :->
For now, I'd mostly do QA work, going after warnings and other small issues we encounter on a daily basis.
SVN access would enable me to commit one-liners without going through the Tasks system.
In the future, I might collaborate on improving the testing and
PageCache infrastructure and perhaps upstream a locally-built extension.
Other Notes
Topics I have contributed to
Hello Florian,
welcome to foswiki
I look forward to seeing you around (are you coming to CERN this weekend?)
